Whitby : Donkeyfield Cottage

Location : Accomodation : See and Do : Gallery

Donkeyfield Cottage is located in Whitby and is a popular Yorkshire costal town. The town is steeped in history and has many links dating back to Roman times.

The famous Abbey ruins hold a commanding and haunting position above the town and from St Mary's Church down the 199 steps, you are led into the quaint cobbled streets with a variety of shops.

Close to this is Whitby's swing bridge, that was built in 1908, and links the upper and lower harbour areas and the east and west sides of the town.

Whitby was the home of Captain James Cook and it is on these sandy beaches that the mythical Count Dracula first set foot.

Whitby provides an ideal base for exploring the North Yorkshire Moors and Coast which both have a rich body of activities to keep people of all ages occupied.
